Panoply - Arts Music & More

We went to the 'Panoply' today, well just for the morning. A fun time to see things about art, music and more. Lots to look at and lots to do. Us 4 adults each took one child and went mostly where they wanted to go. I was picked by Kiersten, so we bee lined for the face painting. But before that, we got a group pic taken! At the end we had crafts to carry and Peter & I ended up wearing some of it!!! Lots of fun, especially the smoked turkey legs - oh yum they're good with "sweet tea"!!!!

New Shoes

We've been busy doing this and doing that and going here and going there! And it's been fun. Sunday of course was Easter. What a beautiful day to celebrate our Risen Saviour!!
The kids had easter eggs they decorated and then hid and searched for till all but 3 were cracked!
Monday I was at the dentists for an hour or so. Got a filling and some impressions done for later.
Today I looked for a shoe pattern for Katie Anne, to make her a pair of soft shoes. Found this pattern here - Sew Darling Mini Mocs Pattern
It was fun to sew again after about a week. Took me a bit to realize I didn't have to worry about the machine going in reverse when I started it. With a treadle you do, but not with an electric. It is a very nice machine - Thanks Candace!
The shoes turned out great and there is one happy little girl!
This is just a trial pair to see if I got the right size. Perfect fit, so now we'll sew up some 'fancy' ones!

Well We Are Here

We been here for a few days now, and it's just wonderful!

The first evening was so 'cool', and I'm not talking about the weather. It was very late - like 11 pm, when Kirk came to pick us up from the airport. I was not expecting anyone to be with him, but it was a pleasant surprise to see Kiersten and Keelyn in the vehicle! I was chilled, now I'm talking weather, on the last flight so I was more than glad to sit between the two of them on the ride to where we are staying and get warmed up. It was a fun ride all the way there, as the three of us were non-stop talking about 'everything', Peter and Kirk in the front and us in the back. It warmed my heart to be so accepted like it had been just 'last month' since we'd seen each other but was really more than 2 years - the grandchildren just accepted us and made us feel so at home. I'd been wondering if they'd take a day or two to 'warm' up to us. Katie Anne has not shown any 'shyness' toward us, even though this is the first time we've seen her face to face. Of course we have been 'skyping' with them a number of times over the last 2 years. We were greeted with such love!

In just this short time we've had a lot of laughs and getting to know each other again.

Today we visited the dentist who will be working on our teeth over the next 2 1/2 weeks.
He seems to think that he'll get done what we need at this time.

God is so good.

He has providing our needs through family, friends, and strangers too!
Thank God for being good to us and helping meet our needs.

Getting Ready

The time it takes to get ready for a 4 month long trip has come to an end. Ready or not, we have now started our "Canadian Trip", which includes the USA. April 13th to August 27th, 2014 - exactly = 136 Days   -- or --   19 Weeks and 3 Days   -- or --   4 Months and 2 weeks.
Alphonsine is going to miss us. She called me, and we went into her room for a hug and time of prayer! God Bless Her!!!
Yesterday she brought her niece, who is on a break from school till the 28th of April (two weeks), from Ryabega. Cutest little thing, with a bad chest cough, gave her a tub of Vicks and told her to feed her two boiled eggs and a big mug of porridgy every morning, she's as skinny as a bean pole!
PLEASE PRAY FOR HER
But beside that, it will give Alphonsine someone to look after and she may not miss us too much, at first.
Also yesterday, Theophile came to bring some gifts for us to take to our families.

Last Sunday, April 6th, we had a great time with the church people.
Choirs sang and goodbyes were said. We are going to miss them, as they us.
Greetings to the believers in Canada and USA.

 Walking back to the road,
more waves from field workers,
following a boy goat herder,
and checking out a hand hoed field.
Tuesday, we fly out of Rwanda heading for the USA, our first stop.
Excited about going, excited to share about the work here.
 (682 Days -- or -- 97 Weeks and 3 Days -- or -- 1 Year and 45 Weeks and 3 Days)
Almost 2 years - Wow that went fast!
God has been so good to us in our time here!
Thank you God for your protection, for your provisions, for our health to do Your Work!
We love you Lord,
and we look forward to a great time of visiting family and friends in America,
for your continued protection, and provisions, and health.
