A Rooster and Sewing Machines

Today we were given a gift! Theo gave us a rooster to have for our dinner. He's a FINE rooster and being that we have a fine rooster already, we will be eating him for dinner tomorrow! We had 8 chickens, and when they matured we found we had 4 roosters and 4 hens. Peter and Alphonsine took three roosters down to the market a couple of Thursdays' ago and sold them and bought 2 hens. One rooster on the yard is enough and it's been a few months since the last taste of chicken. We butchered it and it will be simmering all day tomorrow on coals.
Our introduction!

His last .....

Today, also was eventful in another way. The new machines that were purchased are going to their respective homes. The first one went last Friday, and two went today. I caught the last one going after class this afternoon. Pelagie is just a short little lady, but very proud to be taking her machine home!

Pelagie, one happy lady!
And that would be 22.5 lbs. balanced on her head! (9.98kg)

Thank you Lord for this opportunity to be able to see these ladies learn a skill and be able to buy machines to continue on with it. To date, 11 students have machines. This is truly rewarding work!
