Doctor Appointment

I know some of you are interested in the results of the doctor's appointment. I got the routine blood work done the day before so that the Doc would have the results for the next day's appointment.

The ESR was 30 last month, 72 this month! (0 to 20 is normal) Neither the Doctor or us, were glad to hear that. I have been feeling fine so it was a surprise! Don't know what is up with that, but the Doc ordered another test to see if he can narrow down what is causing the problem and hopefully be able to target the problem more accurately!!! So back to the lab for another blood sample!

He never changed the medication this time but hopes to do so next month when we see him.

So we will all have to wait!

We are praising God that He is good! We are able to carry on with the work He has called us here to do and we are rejoicing about that!

Baby Outfit

There was a baby born to a couple that is on staff with YWAM Rwanda last week and I quickly made up an outfit during class time at the school. Of course there was a lot of interest in what I was sewing, so some were able to take some material and cut one out and start sewing it.

Below is the one I finished with a pair of shorts that I gave to the new baby. We took it in to Kigali when we went on Friday. Because of our schedule we never did get a peek at the little one. Maybe next month I guess!

Update - We Have Been Busy

Monday, October 15, 2012
We went to the Immigration Office to pick up our new Green Cards, just to find out that they are not valid anymore, and the Government now wants to issue new Electronic ID Cards, and we can come back with the new papers filled out next Monday! The green cards will work until then!
More sewing at the school.
Brought back some corn to transplant (experiment) as it was just being hoed under at the Pre-school groundbreaking!

We ran out of internet!!! We are using a modem - suppose to have lots of access and time - middle of the month and we've run out! Plan B - it wasn't enough either! And now back on, for who knows how long!!!
Sewing a small bag with button closure so that I can teach the students how to make the buttonhole stitch around a button hole! There will be need for practice on that - I remember my first buttonhole stitching too!

We have a guest for 10 days! Her name is Madeleen from Namibia (near South Africa). She is white, missionary with OM (Operation Mobilization), she was staying and helping out at the YWAM Rwanda base and wanted to come and see the work here and help out. It is nice to have her here and learn from her a few things, as she learns from us!!! She is searching and waiting on the Lord to guide her into full time ministry and wants to be open to His leading!

Showed the sewing students Madeleen's dress - they all want to make one now!
Daniel made the decision to pack up his things and move. Today we said our goodbyes and he left to spend time with his family. We will see him again about the 24th of November for his graduation.
We will miss him.
Alphonsine will be moving in tomorrow and live here with us full time!
Found out friends at the YWAM Rwanda base had a new baby, so had to make a little dress for her. Sewed it at the school - so that may be the next project for the students to sew!
Got around to talking with Cora-Jean, and wished her a Happy Birthday!

Well, that about catches you up on what's been happening here.

Another Project

This project the church members have taken on themselves!

There is a lady, Franswas Nisingizwe, attending church with 2 children. Her husband up and left her about 6 years ago. She hasn't a proper roof on her house, and because of that and the harassing she gets during the night, she has moved and is living with her mother. She would like to have her own place nearer her mother, as her mother is sick and needs some care, as well as, Franswas needs someone to watch her children when she works.  We visited her today as well as others.

This is only one of many that need help here. As we walked along from place to place we saw more than enough that need help. We want to be able to be "Jesus with skin on" to these people! To show them that we care will help them see Jesus. It really is exciting to be a help to them! They keep telling us "God bless you for what you are doing!" - well He has! What a rich reward to be here and doing this and helping others. We truly are BLESSED! We just hope that we can be a blessing to more so that they can see Jesus and glorify Him!!! He is the one that is doing this!!!! We just happen to love being His instruments in showing Him to others!!!

Groundbreaking Today

We are sure the Lord is telling us to step out in Faith!
The church members did that today by preparing the ground where the school will be built for the children.
We are praying that God will supply the funds and the materials for a building that will house three classrooms and one office. We are hoping that it will be finished by the end of 2012. It does take about 2 months to build a building this size, if all the funds and materials are there. The need for a school is definitely there. There are children that in the area that have no school close by to attend. They also may or may not have the funds to attend school. This project will help them get the education they need and want, and deserve.
The needs for this project:
 - funds for building
 - materials for building
 - sponsorship for child to attend school
 - three teachers
This is the back of "Jesus Is Lord" church we attend.
This was the starting at 8 AM this morning!
Another angle showing the building behind the church.
After we went and visited a few people (another post) we came back to this much done by 12 noon.
We prayed with the group that was there that God would bless the project and see that it would be completed in His timing!

Finished Lined Zippered Bags

Each student had to bring their own material, zipper, and thread to make a bag! It was very interesting to see who followed instructions!!! In the end, after a lot of ripping out by some, they got them done.
Only two out of the 10 students had not finished theirs by Thursday, I will try to remember to post those when they finish!
