Treadle Machines

We've had our knowledge of treadle machines broadened! It's a good thing that there is a lot of info on the internet! Seems like with new and used machines we are learning the quirks of each machine! Today we finally got all 10 machines up and running!!! What is so encouraging is the eagerness the ladies have to learn about the machines, and sewing. Today I even did a little on one of the treadles myself, wound a bobbin (using the 'machine bobbin winder' - which was new for them! - they wind the bobbin very differently) and then tried to sew up a little girl's dress until I had problems with the machine. By that time it was the end of class and the afternoon class came in and all 10 ladies were there! Oh well, we had to fix the machine for the lady and I can sew at home now anyway!
