Yes I'm here!

It seems so long since I last blogged! Mostly I've been knitting up Christmas presents, sent some away, and working. We have been gone lots on weekends and that has slowed me down on doing fun stuff like blogging! I had time only to do the necessary things like wash, and work. Yes, wash, work and knit Christmas presents! That's all I seem to be doing in the last while. I haven't even had to go out and shop for Christmas gifts - good thing too, I've been making them. Yes pretty will everyone on my list is getting a homemade gift.
So I guess that's why I haven't been blogging - not much to blog about.....
UNTIL TODAY ----- JH got a job yesterday and today is his first day! I've been waiting to hear about this day for quite a long time. (they have been too). So if you want to hear more about it you can go to HERE at Just Our Thoughts for more about it.

Bringing you up to date!

I've been way to busy, so I haven't done a post in a long time.
Peter's step-dad passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15.
And the funeral was Wed. Nov. 18.
We went on Fri. Nov. 20th to Nipawin for the Alumni weekend which was refreshing. Got to be with Jason & Becky and Nolan and Makenna for the weekend (and funeral) so that was a blessing.
And today it was right back to schedule, don't know that I was ready for it.
AND Christmas is just over a month away!!!!!

Teddy

Here are a couple of Teddies that I knitted for LaDonna's two oldest girls. I happened upon them when we were out for the Birthday Party in October. I'm not sure when I made them. (Because they are a lot of work they are likely the only two that I will ever make.) :-(

Go Fish Guys

Just got my "GoFish Guys" CD, 'Snazzy' that I won at the SSDR giveaway in the month of August. I went and listened to a sampling of the songs, and I think that it is a good little cd to give away. Thanks again!

Free Spirit Cakes

Here is one for you to go check out:

Free Spirit Cakes

(below is Andrea Salmond's "about me" on her blog)

I am a self described cake nerd. I admit it. I think about cakes and cake designs and cake flavors and fillings about 90% of the time. Which might explain why my socks usually don't match. I have a creative mind, and I love to be in the kitchen, and I guess that makes for a deadly combination!

I have always loved the arts... music, drama, drawing and painting. After stumbling into artwork by trying to fill my core credit requirements in college, I eventually declared my major as Fine Arts and never looked back. I went on to dabble in portraits, paintings and murals which I still do. I then branched off into sign work, painting mainly business and yard signs, which I also still do. I thought I had done it all until I started decorating cakes. Then I realized you haven't really lived until you've licked the beaters and lived to tell about it!

My friends and family would definitely tell you that I like to march to the beat of a different drummer, but I am also very organized and manage to be fun but professional. I love the challenge of a new cake and I appreciate my customers! I am excited about growing my new business and I look forward to hearing from you!

Salmond Family Reunion

September 2009, Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.

It was a wonderful weekend. The weather was great and everyone (I believe) had fun!

The Lads and Yancy CD's

I won these too!

And they came yesterday. It is very exciting to receive them. The Lads and Yancy CD's were one of the giveaways that the SSDR were giving away in the month of Aug.

Thanks "The Lads", "Yancy", and SSDR for the opportunity!

September 2009 Prayer Letter

Dear Family and Friends,
So looking back, we see that some of you may not have heard from us since March, as that is the last time we sent out a Prayer letter, PLEASE FORGIVE US! Others of you have been to see us or we have dropped by, or we have chatted by phone or email. We love to know how all of you are doing, so keep it up!
Romans 15:5,6
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Minisitry:
Peter has been working on maintenance at HDQTS all this year, and has had some help with it. Thanks to Bill N. for coming and helping out on the Tribal Trails building roof, also thanks to Gerald C. for helping with the garden sheds that have been taking shape! The flooring got laid in the print shop office and kitchen with help from Dave & Dorlene. The trailer home addition had some work done on it but still needs to be finished. The turf got laid by the trailer with help from staff. If you still think that you would like to take some time this fall for a day or more to help, just give us a shout and Peter will set it up.
Diane has been working on new programs for the fall and winter. Tribal Trails is now on 3 new stations! Praise the Lord that His message is getting out to those that need it. Continue to pray for those that watch TT, that they would change their lives and want to live for our Lord and King. Continue to pray also for the change to producing the program in High Definition. Purchasing equipment is a big decision and wisdom is much desired in this area.
August took us to Conference at the Pinawa Wilderness Edge Retreat Centre, MB. Enduragement was the theme and we were encouraged with the messages and fellowship of other missionaries.
There is some training in September that the mission would like us to take at Lac La Biche, AB, so we will be going away again for another week for that.
Personal life:
We praise the Lord for the way he is supplying our needs. Although Peter didn't want to work this year at an “outside job” to help supplement our financial support - he has had to off and on. He has been able to work less at an “outside job” and that is great! We praise the Lord for the odd jobs that have come up.
We had a wonderful surprise this past June when all of our children and their spouses (and our youngest son's girlfriend) and grandchildren got together for Diane's 50th B-day! The family doesn't often pull something on Diane, but this one they did, and did it well, might I say! Even Peter was surprised as they kept some things from him too. We had a wonderful few days together and lots of pictures and memories to last a lifetime!
Peter had his oldest brother Richard go to be with the Lord this year! He will be missed! But thankful that he is out of pain and can run and jump for joy now!
After conference in Aug. we spent two weeks with Jason & Becky, Nolan and Makenna. Becky had surgery and so we stayed longer to help out. The first week Peter spent at Turtle Mt. Bible Camp as maintenance help.
As you can see above maintenance was enjoyed!

 Crabapple picking with Nolan!
God Bless you,
Peter and Diane Salmond
